Air Cleaner Box Removal and Installation

Removal

1) Remove the helmet box front cover. Refer to "Helmet Box Front Cover Removal and Installation".

2) Remove the frame front cover. Refer to "Front Frame Cover Removal and Installation".

3) Remove the left footboard. Refer to "Footboard Removal and Installation".

4) Disconnect the PCV hose (1).

5) Remove the wire harness clamp bolt (2).

6) Disconnect the following couplers.

7) Remove the air cleaner box cover (11) and air cleaner element.

8) Remove the air cleaner box outlet tube (12).

9) Remove the air cleaner box.

Installation

Install the air cleaner box in the reverse order of removal. Refer to "Air Cleaner Element Removal and Installation", "Footboard Removal and Installation", "Front Frame Cover Removal and Installation" and "Helmet Box Front Cover Removal and Installation".

Air Cleaner Element Inspection

Refer to "Air Cleaner Element Inspection".

Air Cleaner Drain Plug Inspection

Inspect the air cleaner drain plugs in the following procedures:

1) Remove the air cleaner element and inspect the drain hole on the air cleaner box for clogging.

2) Remove the front frame cover. Refer to "Front Frame Cover Removal and Installation".

3) Remove the left side leg shield. Refer to "Side Leg Shield Removal and Installation".

4) Visually inspect the drain plugs (1) and (2).

5) Drain water if necessary by removing the plug.

6) Install the removed parts.
